Humble is a good way to begin to describe Alda Paris.
 
She’s the “casalinga” of a by-gone era.
 
And she’s the main font for the recipes in this book. Her flans flan, her soufflés souf, her bread rises, and her minestrone’s are a mine of goodness.
 
Many years of refining her dishes and modernizing traditional Italian cooking techniques at the same time are the result of a family’s passion for food.
 
So we had to settle for ‘‘that Really Cool Italian Cookbook’’.
